Michael Kemp is a San Diego, California based photographer.   Michael’s love for photography began at an early age with magazines such as Life, Look and Ebony.   It continued in college after he bought his first camera, a Highland-Pentax.  In his senior year he received a summer scholarship to study art history, architecture and government in Europe.  This helped develop his strong interest and appreciation of art, architecture and landscape photography.

After raising a family and an extensive career in government and the nonprofit sector, Michael rediscovered his passion for photography and began taking college coursework.   He also volunteered at the Palm Springs Photo Festival and in 2017, served as a workshop assistant for Fine Art photographer Sheila Metzner.

Michael was selected as a 2017 Artist in Residence and attended the Hermitage Artist Retreat in Englewood, Florida.

He enjoys a wide range of photography including people and travel.
